Avalon Emerson‘s newest single and music video are dense. Not dense to the point of maximalism, but dense in that the song and video both have so many layers and features that you could never tire of such precisely crafted work.
The song has a pumping and throbbing beat with an array of quirky little sounds and unexpectedly grandiose pads that come and go in a decidedly experimental manner. There is always a multitude of sounds but it is never overwhelming, whereas the video on the other hand seems to be an ode to hyper-stimulation with its “emojisaic gifs” and randomly chosen clips from a life of traveling around the world.
