Taken from their debut LP SUN DOG, comes “Frequency” by Melbourne trio AT/ALL. The charmingly relaxing synth-wave track is an understated gem, with it’s most beautiful features being it’s most subtle. Like the frantically panning arpeggio synth, or the ways in which the layers of vocals constantly compliment the next line.
The song exists in a warm nostalgic realm between organic instrumentation and electronic stylings. The vocal line goes between the deepest and highest melodies within a moment, while the washed-out percussion provides a sweet groove that sometimes feels on the verge of climax but always retains it’s hazy filtering. This is a track that is drenched in atmosphere, and will have you noticing more details each time you listen to it.
